In Memoriam of Our Friend Lisa
The band is extremely saddened to say that Lisa Varlese, tenor drummer, passed away on Wednesday May 6. We want to share our deepest condolences with family and friends. Lisa joined the band in 2015 along with her daughter Grace. She made a huge impact on our ensemble musically but more importantly through her level of kindness and character. She was someone we all found comfort in as a friend. Below are the words and memories shared from band members from our time spent with Lisa. We send our thoughts and prayers to her friends and family. Lisa will always be in our hearts and in our music. Ex Arca.
"Lisa's presence at band events was always reassuring. Her kindness and good humor made sectionals, practices, parades, and competitions that much more fun and enjoyable. She demonstrated the best aspects of cameradie, with all members of Claddagh. She will be greatly missed by the mid-section"
"Lisa was one of the sweetest, most genuine, and caring people I have ever known. She was our “Band Mom,” and was so loved by us all. She will be missed so dearly. The band circle and Claddagh family will not be the same without her. May she rest in the sweetest peace and may her family find strength in knowing how loved she was by us all. I know she will be watching over the band. Ex Arca Forever."
